Sir Loungelot, Sir Burnevere, and Sir Blaze keep failing quests, such as their quest for the Holy Poached Egg of Essex. Burnevere says that this is because Loungelot convinced Blaze and Burnevere to skip Schoolmaster Buzzard's lecture on questing when they were in squire school. Cinder and Clinker announce that there is a free quest seminar, which offers free tickets for bingo, bickies, and books. This appeals to Blaze, Loungelot, and Burnevere, respectively, and Flicker goes with them only to avoid Queen Griddle's yelling about the poached eggs.
Along the way, they see a burning castle with a damsel in distress inside. When they see that she is an ugly dragon named Griselda, the knights refuse to save her, but Flicker does, and when Griselda kisses him, she turns into a more beautiful human woman.
Then they enter the Jungle of Hoaxes and Hijinx. A demon appears, but turns out to be a hoax. However, the minotaur that appears is not a hoax, but a hijinx. Loungelot, Blaze, and Burnevere hide behind a tree, but Flicker fights the minotaur and defeats him with a mace. The minotaur tells Flicker that he has a lot of courage, unlike the three knights.
Next they reach the Loony Labyrinth of Baffling Bewilderment. Loungelot, Burnevere, and Blaze take the shortcut, through a door that says "Authorized Personnel Only", while Flicker goes through the maze, which takes hours.
Afterward, they reach the castle in which the seminar takes place. Loungelot, Burnevere, and Blaze find their old lockers and realize this is their old squire school. The dragon knights try to escape, but end up in their old classroom, where Buzzard appears in person. Buzzard reveals that he used the seminar as a trick to make the dragons quest back to the quest lecture. Griselda, the minotaur, and the maze were all quests of Buzzard's design, which Loungelot, Burnevere, and Blaze failed with zero, but Flicker passed each test, so he goes to the school of graduation with Griselda while Buzzard lectures the three dragon knights.
